Benefits of Membership

Disability Education Association of NSW/ACT (DEAN) is a professional association established to represent the interests of staff and students in the sector.

Why join DEAN?

DEAN has been established to act as a peak body to represent the interests of staff and students in the sector and provides members with opportunities for:

  • Cross-sectoral collaboration
  • A forum for professional development and networking 
  • Collection & dissemination of information
  • One voice to promote political and social aspects of the unique and collective interests of all the constituents
  • Promoting the enhancement of access to education for people with disabilities

Members will receive:

  • voting rights and the right to stand for office;
  • access to an email list server for practitioners; 
  • information gathering and dissemination;
  • discounts on PD Days and forums;
  • access to the Members only area section on the website (login required) containing PD Day presentations, handouts, resources, and much more.

Who is eligible to join DEAN?

Membership is open to any person who is employed in the University or TAFE education sectors, or is an NDCO, in NSW or ACT whose position focuses in part or in full on the provision of educational access services for people with a disability.

Membership Fee

Current membership fee is $30, with membership fees now covering a calendar year.

How do I apply for Membership?

You can either apply and pay online or print out a registration form and mail it in along with payment.
